Digital Interconnect
The Townshend Audio DTC Digital Interconnect consists of the
highest quality professional ultra low-loss extreme bandwidth
coaxial data cable which has been deep cryogenically treated
to realise what is now considered to be one of the best digital
interconnects available. The cable has a characteristic impedance
of 75 ohms to match all coax digital signal interconnects paths
correctly. The cable is double shielded with foil over braid
and has a solid pure copper inner core. The insulation polypropylene
fashioned in a honeycomb construction so that the dielectric
is mainly air; the second best insulator after a vacuum.
It
is ideally suited for digitally connecting a CD transport and
Digital to Analogue Converter (DAC) or from a DVD Player to
an AV Receiver for PCM, Dolby Digital, DTS and/or MPEG digital
signals. It is also superb as a connector for video, especially
for Component Video where there is no HDMI possibility. The
results here are stunning, especially with the Townshend Audio
TA565 CD Universal Player.
The
cable may be terminated with gold plated phono plugs, gold plated
BNC connectors or a combination off both. It may be supplied
in any length up to 50 metres, however, runs should be kept
shorter than this to avoid signal degradation.
