Dave uses these conditioners on his system with an adeptResponce aR4 with Quantum Qx2 to his dCS components and another aR4 and Quantum Qx4 for the amplification.

If the power supply to your Hi-fi system is suspect then your enjoyment will suffer. The power supplies around the country vary with some areas better than others. The simple test is if your system sounds better at night than it does during peak demand time, then you know a power cleanup is essential.

Without an electrical supply, your Hi-fi system will not function, so if you need to give serious consideration to power.

There are three areas to consider.
1/ Good quality power cords
2/ Power conditioning
3/ Mains purification.

1/ A well designed power cord will certainly reward your system. Do not forget the fuse. Replace it with a high performance fuse. Do not think of it as a fuse although it will do the job if required, but think of it removing the weak link in the power supply route. Upgrading the plugs to the Furutech range helps you gain that little bit more.

2/ Power conditioning will silence mains bourne noise and protect against spikes. High quality conditioners like the adeptResponce from Audience, see left, offer a very high degree of performance. High quality mains blocks from Kemp will do the same to a lesser extent at an affordable level. Isotek offer a flexible range including rack design.

3/ Mains purification when you get it right can be the most rewarding and with a Quantum in your system, every component benefits. No system should be without at least one. Take time to read up on the Quantum.

Power cords of the highest quality. Enhances any system even if the cord costs more than the component. With Nordost 2m are minimum length recommended by Dave and beware of chop shop cowboy dealers, as they do not realise how they can make a great cable under perform. ODIN is the exception where specific lengths, 1.25m, 5m & 5m are part of the integral design philosophy.
